"What's a few meters between friends?"
Jamal Harvey is a Wayfarer educator, storyteller, and unapologetic dad-joke enthusiast. As co-host and producer of Wayspotters, Jamal has dedicated himself to helping Wayfinders become better explorers by making Wayfarer less intimidating, more approachable, and a whole lot more fun.
With more than 50,000 Wayspot reviews and 1000+ accepted Wayspots, Jamal brings years of hands-on experience to every episode. But what truly drives him isn't the numbers, it's helping others understand why a nomination succeeds, how to create meaningful Points of Interest, and how small improvements can have a lasting impact on local communities and the games we all love.
Known for his common sense advice, infectious enthusiasm, and signature catchphrase, "What's a few meters between friends?", Jamal isn't afraid to challenge conventional thinking, defend a controversial nomination, or remind everyone that Wayfarer is about more than just Pokémon GO. it's about encouraging exploration, exercise, and discovering the stories hidden in every neighborhood.
Away from the microphone, Jamal is a devoted husband and proud father of four daughters. Whether he's spending time with his family, producing content for the Pokémon Professor Network, mentoring new Wayfinders, or searching for overlooked local gems, he's always looking for ways to build stronger communities, both on and off the map.
Through Wayspotters, Jamal's mission is simple: Educate. Entertain. Excite. Every episode is an opportunity to help Wayfinders build a better map and inspire others to get out and explore.

Our mission is simple: Educate. Entertain. Excite.
Every week, Wayspotters brings informative, engaging, and entertaining content to Trainers, Agents, Pilots, Pikmin Bloomers, and especially Wayfinders throughout the Scopely Explore ecosystem.
Whether you're submitting your very first Wayspot, reviewing your 100,000th nomination, or simply curious about the world around you, our goal is to help you become a better Wayfinder while encouraging exploration, exercise, and discovery.
Every episode is driven by conversation.
Our two featured discussions. Topic #1 and Topic #2 take a deep dive into the biggest stories, Wayfarer updates, community debates, eligibility questions, and everything happening across the Scopely Explore ecosystem.
Whether we're discussing breaking news, reviewing new criteria, debating controversial nominations, or answering listener questions, every episode is designed to educate, entertain, and spark thoughtful discussion.
Every week we highlight a Wayspot submitted by one of our listeners, or occasionally one of our own.
We'll review the title, description, supporting information, and photos before explaining how we'd evaluate it under the current Wayfarer criteria. Sometimes it's a five-star nomination... sometimes it needs a little work.
Our goal isn't just to rate nominations; it's to help everyone become a better nominator.
Even the best Wayfinders have seen some unforgettable nominations.
Coal of the Week highlights a submission that left us scratching our heads. Whether it's a nomination on K-12 property, a random utility pole, or something that completely ignores the Wayfarer criteria, we'll explain why it doesn't work—and, more importantly, how it could have been improved.
Because every rejected nomination is another opportunity to learn.
One of our most popular recurring segments!
Each week, Chris and Jamal present four Wayfarer-, Pokémon-, gaming-, or nostalgia-themed choices, but there's a catch...
One's Gotta Go.
Whether it's starter Pokémon, map features, childhood games, movie snacks, or community traditions, listeners must make the impossible decision to eliminate one forever. It's lighthearted, interactive, and almost always sparks spirited debate within the community.
Everyone has a story.
Tales from Canada (or wherever our adventures take us!) is where we share memorable Wayfinding experiences from the road. From discovering incredible hidden gems to unbelievable nomination stories, community events, travel adventures, and those moments that remind us why we love exploring, this segment celebrates the people and places that make Wayfarer special.
Sometimes it's funny. Sometimes it's educational. It's always a good story.
Make sure to stay tuned to the end of every episode to hear Jamal’s newest Dad Joke and to hear Glaw's reaction to it.
