Silph Arena Season 2 Cup Rules

NJ GO Battle League Silph Arena Catacomb Cup

CATACOMB CUP 

  • Team of 6: Competitors will bring a team of 6 Pokemon (and register them before the tournament begins). All battle parties used must be comprised of these 6 Pokemon.
  • Great League: Matches are played in Great League: only Pokemon up to 1500 CP are permitted in the Cup.
  • Catacomb Types: Only Pokémon with Dark, Grass, Ice, Rock, and Bug types (including dual types) are allowed, with a few exceptions:
    • Legendaries, Mythicals, Shadows, Regionals, and Steel types are not permitted.
    • Scrafty, Dewgong, Alolan Ninetails, Crustle and Obstagoon are not allowed for use in the Catacomb Cup.
  • Great League: Matches are played in Great League: only Pokemon up to 1500 CP are permitted in the Cup.
  • Catacomb Types: Only Pokémon with Dark, Grass, Ice, Rock, and Bug types (including dual types) are allowed, with a few exceptions:
    • Legendaries, Mythicals, Shadows, Regionals, and Steel types are not permitted.
    • Scrafty, Dewgong, Alolan Ninetails, Crustle and Obstagoon are not allowed for use in the Catacomb Cup.

Sorcerous Cup

  • Team of 6: Competitors will bring a team of 6 Pokemon (and register them before the tournament begins). All battle parties used must be comprised of these 6 Pokemon.
  • Great League: Matches are played in Great League: only Pokemon up to 1500 CP are permitted in the Cup.
  • Sorcerous Types: Only Pokémon with Ice, Poison, Fairy, Psychic, and Normal types (including dual types) are allowed, with a few exceptions:
    • Only Pokémon with a second charge move that costs 50k stardust or less are allowed. (If a species' evolutions or pre-evolution stages differ in move costs, only the evolution stages whose charge moves are 50k stardust or less are permitted.
    • Dewgong, Alolan Raichu, Galarian Linoone, Obstagoong and Shadow Pokémon are not permitted in the Sorcerous Cup to feature a wider variety of species and, for Shadow Pokémon, due to availability constraints.

NJ GO Battle League Forest Cup

FOREST CUP

  • Team of 6: Competitors will bring a team of 6 Pokemon (and register them before the tournament begins). All battle parties used must be comprised of these 6 Pokemon.
  • Great League: Matches are played in Great League: only Pokemon up to 1500 CP are permitted in the Cup.
  • Forest Types: Only Pokemon with Grass, Bug, Water, Fire, or Electric types are allowed, with a few exceptions:
    • All Pokemon must originate in Generations 2 (Johto), 3 (Hoenn), 4 (Sinnoh), or 5 (Unova).
    • Shadow Pokemon, Genesect, and Tropius are not permitted in the Forest Cup due to availability constraints and, in Tropius' case, to feature wider variety of species.

NJ GO Battle League - Silph Arena - Voyager Cup Rules

VOYAGER CUP

  • Team of 6: Competitors will bring a team of 6 Pokemon (and register them before the tournament begins). All battle parties used must be comprised of these 6 Pokemon.
  • Great League: Matches are played in Great League: only Pokemon up to 1500 CP are permitted in the Cup.
  • Master the Regions: Rather than selecting a team from restricted types, competitors will build their team based on the region Pokemon are originally from:
    • Step 1: Pick one Pokemon from each of the following regions:
      1. Kanto
      2. Johto
      3. Hoenn
      4. Sinnoh
      5. Unova/Alola/Galar/Other (Includes Meltan)
        • There are no restrictions or bans on these first 5 slots, as long as you have one Pokemon from each region.
        •  Step 2: Pick a wildcard. Your wildcard can come from any region, but it can NOT be one of the following

TOXIC CUP

  • Team of 6: Competitors will bring a team of 6 Pokemon (and register them before the tournament begins). All battle parties used must be comprised of these 6 Pokemon.
  • Great League: Matches are played in Great League: only Pokemon up to 1500 CP are permitted in the Cup.
  • Toxic Types: Only Pokémon with Bug, Poison, Normal, Ground, or Grass as one of their types is allowed (dual-types included).
  • Species Bans: Tropius, Noctowl, Vigoroth, Genesect, and dual-type Pokémon with both Water+Ground typing are not permitted!
  • Eligible List: What follows is the official list of exactly which species are permitted for use in the Toxic Cup

ROSE CUP

  • Team of 6: Competitors will bring a team of 6 Pokemon (and register them before the tournament begins). All battle parties used must be comprised of these 6 Pokemon.
  • Great League: Matches are played in Great League: only Pokemon up to 1500 CP are permitted in the Cup.
  • Permitted Colors: Only Pokemon whose main colors are Pink, Purple, Red, or Gray are eligible for use in the Rose Cup.
    • Main colors are based off of their classifications on BULBAPEDIA.
  • Shinies: A Pokémon's elligibility is based solely on its non-shiny form's color. For example: Sableye and its shiny are allowed, but shiny and non-shiny Gyarados are not.
  • Multiple Forms: If a Pokémon has multiple forms (Alolans, regional forms, etc.), each form that matches the allowed colors is eligible. (i.e. Alolan Marowak is allowed but Kanto Marowak is not)
  • Species Bans: Water-types (including dual types!), Mythical Pokemon, Legendary Pokemon, and Bastiodon are not allowed.
  • Eligible List: What follows is the official list of exactly which species are permitted for use in the Rose Cup

NJ Silph Arena Fusion Cup

FUSION CUP

  • TEAM OF 6:
    Competitors will bring a team of 6 Pokemon (and register them before the tournament begins). All battle parties used must be comprised of these 6 Pokemon.
  • GREAT LEAGUE:
    Matches are played in Great League: only Pokemon up to 1500 CP are permitted in the Cup.
  • DUAL-TYPES ONLY:
    The Fusion Cup requires you to build your team using only dual-type Pokemon - no single types - with the following restrictions:
  • 2ND CHARGE MOVE COST CAP:
    Only Pokemon with a 2nd charge move that costs 50k stardust or less are allowed. (If a species' evolutions or pre-evolution stages differ in move costs, only the evolution stages whose charge moves are 50k stardust or less are permitted.)
  • SPECIES BANS:
    Azumarill, Medicham, Dewgong, and Wormadam (all forms) are not allowed.
  • ELIGIBLE LIST

TIMELESS CUP

  • The Timeless Cup requires you to pick a single elemental starter Pokémon from the first four generations (Kanto, Johto, Hoenn & Sinnoh), then select the rest of your battle team of six from any of the four generations, but with a list of restrictions:
    • Any Pokémon with Fighting, Normal, Fairy, Flying, Steel or Psychic typing (including dual-typing) may not be used.
    • Legendary and Mythical Pokémon may not be used.
    • Umbreon and Sableye may not be used.
    • Only Pokémon from generations 1 through 4 may be used. Species or forms released in generations 5, 7 and 8 (Unova, Alola and Galar) may not be used.
  • Your starter Pokémon is not subject to the type restrictions and may be any evolution in its family. The rest of your battle team does not need to be from the same generation as your selected starter.
  • See this list for eligible species!

FEROCIOUS CUP

  • Competitors will bring a team of 6 Pokemon (and register them before the tournament begins). All battle parties used must be comprised of these 6 Pokemon.
  • Matches are played in Great League: only Pokemon up to 1500 CP are permitted in the Cup.
  • Rather than being restricted to specific Pokemon Types, the Ferocious Cup is limited to a selection of land-based "beast" Pokemon inspired by the fearsome beasts that rule the land. The species whitelist features a selection of 130 land mammals and reptiles that have been analyzed and selected for their ability to create a new challenging meta.  
  • Only one of each Pokemon species is permitted on your team of 6. (No species duplicates!) However, Pokemon forms with different typings are permitted on the same team.
  • Arena Rules will be followed in all other particulars.

SINISTER CUP

  • Competitors will bring a team of 6 Pokemon (and register them before the tournament begins). All battle parties used must be comprised of these 6 Pokemon.
  • Matches are played in Great League: only Pokemon up to 1500 CP are permitted in the Cup.
  • Only Pokemon with at least one of the following types are permitted: Ghost, Psychic, Steel, Fighting.
  • All species with at least one of the four allowed types are permitted except: Mythical Pokémon, Skarmory, Hypno, and any Pokémon with Dark Typing (including dual types).
  • Only one of each Pokemon species is permitted on your team of 6. (No species duplicates!)
  • Arena Rules will be followed in all other particulars.

Silph Arena Season 1 Cup Rules

NJ GO Battle League Silph Arena Mirror Cup

MIRROR CUP

  • Communities may pick any Season 1 Cup's theme for their Mirror Cup. When creating their tournament, they will be prompted to pick from the following themes (and their accompanying rulesets):
    • Boulder Cup, Twilight Cup, Tempest Cup, Kingdom Cup, Nightmare Cup, Rainbow Cup, Jungle Cup, or Season 1 Regionals
  • Competitors will bring a team of 6 Pokemon (and register them before the tournament begins). All battle parties used must be comprised of these 6 Pokemon.
  • No new species bans have been implemented in any past Cup ruleset. All new Pokemon will be permitted, assuming they would have qualified under the past Cup rules.
  • Matches are played in Great League: only Pokemon up to 1500 CP are permitted in the Cup.
  • Only one of each Pokemon species is permitted on your team of 6. (No species duplicates - even in Boulder Cup!)
  • Arena Rules will be followed in all other particulars.

NJ GO Battle League Silph Arena Jungle Cup

JUNGLE CUP 

  • Competitors will bring a team of 6 Pokemon (and register them before the tournament begins). All battle parties used must be comprised of these 6 Pokemon.
  • Matches are played in Great League: only Pokemon up to 1500 CP are permitted in the Cup.
  • Only Pokemon with at least one of the following types are permitted: Electric, Bug, Grass, and Normal.
  • All species with at least one of the four allowed types are permitted except: Tropius and the Burmy family (Burmy/Wormadam of all coats and Mothim).
  • Only one of each Pokemon species is permitted on your team of 6. (No species duplicates!)
  • Arena Rules will be followed in all other particulars.

NJ GO Battle League Silph Arena Nightmare Cup

NIGHTMARE CUP

  • Competitors will bring a team of 6 Pokemon (and register them before the tournament begins). All battle parties used must be comprised of these 6 Pokemon.
  • Matches are played in Great League: only Pokemon up to 1500 CP are permitted in the Cup.
  • Only Pokemon with at least one of the following types are permitted: Pyschic, Dark, or Fighting.
  • Legendaries, Mythicals, Sableye, and Medicham are banned from use in this Cup!
  • Only one of each Pokemon species is permitted on your team of 6. (No species duplicates!)
  • Arena Rules will be followed in all other particulars.

NJ GO Battle League Silph Arena Kingdom Cup

KINGDOM CUP

  • Competitors will bring a team of 6 Pokemon (and register them before the tournament begins). All battle parties used must be comprised of these 6 Pokemon.
  • Matches are played in Great League: only Pokemon up to 1500 CP are permitted in the Cup.
  • Only Pokemon with at least one of the following types are permitted: Fire, Ice, Dragon, or Steel.
  • Only one of each Pokemon species is permitted on your team of 6. (No species duplicates!)
  • Arena Rules will be followed in all other particulars.

NJ GO Battle League - Silph Arena Tempest Cup

TEMPEST CUP

  • Competitors will bring a team of 6 Pokemon (and register them before the tournament begins). All battle parties used must be comprised of these 6 Pokemon.
  • Matches are played in Great League: only Pokemon up to 1500 CP are permitted in the Cup.
  • Only Pokemon with at least one of the following types are permitted: Electric, Ice, Flying, or Ground.
  • Only one of each Pokemon species is permitted on your team of 6. (No species duplicates!)
  • Arena Rules will be followed in all other particulars.

NJ GO Battle League Silph Arena Twilight Cup

TWILIGHT CUP

  • Competitors will bring a team of 6 Pokemon (and register them before the tournament begins). All battle parties used must be comprised of these 6 Pokemon.
  • Great League - Only Pokémon with a maximum CP of 1,500 are permitted. 
  • Only Pokemon with at least one of the following types are permitted: Dark, Fairy, Poison, or Ghost.
  • Only one of each Pokemon species is permitted on your team of 6.
  • Arena Rules will be followed in all other particulars.

NJ GO Battle League Silph Arena Boulder Cup

BOULDER CUP

  • Competitors will bring a team of 6 Pokémon. All Battle Parties must be comprised of these 6 Pokémon.
  • Only Pokémon with a maximum CP of 1,500 are permitted in the Cup.
  • Only Pokémon with at least one of the following types are permitted: Rock, Ground, Fighting, and Steel
  • Arena Rules will be followed in all other particulars
